Went to see the great Scottish institution that is Idlewild last night. Great gig, 20+ songs, lots of old favourites and the stuff from the new album which has just come out sounds really good.

I'm getting quite into Director after seeing them at the Mitchelstown festival this summer, both their albums are amazing.

Saw Shed Seven in London on Friday night, small venue - Islington O2 Academy (capacity 450) and the Sheds rocked, I've seen them loads of time and this was one of their best gigs ever!

Went to see James Vincent McMorrow in London last Thurday, it was his first UK headline gig, this guy has an amazing voice, would like to see him with a band rather than just an acoustic guitar though.

Also went to see White Lies in Norwich on Sunday night, not overly impressed, they were better last time I saw them. The 'difficult second album' all sounds the same to me.

Next up is The Go-Team in a couple of weeks. How's that for a varied taste in live music!

Jeez I have not been to a gig in a good while, never thought it would happen! Thats what a couple of ankle biters does to a man's social life!!

To that end, its vital that the Franks hit the festival cicuit this year to allow us fathers the chance to overload on live music during a weekend, a musical boot camp for Dad's

Been to a few gigs since the last update:
Go-Team - very good, looking forward to seeing them again at SeaSessions
Levellers / Wonderstuff - brilliant gig, great memories
Miles Hunt (acoustic solo) - excellent gig in small Norwich venue
Anna Calva / Grouplove (NME Radar Tour) - Anna's voice is amazing!!!!

You can't beat good live music - even better when its the Franks!

Went to see The Airbourne Toxic Event in London last night - amazing! These guys should be huge, a mix of indie with The odd bit of violins and chellos thrown in! Check them out if you get the chance.

Saw The Vaccines last night, pretty impressed. The support band Frankie & the heartstrings were pretty good too! Next up a double dose of Shed Seven before the Franks Xmas gig!
